Working & Living

Location: Disney World Resort - Orlando, Florida, USA

IlluminationEvery role at the Walt Disney World® Resort is important. There are many different working experiences offered to our Disney Cultural Exchange Program Cast Members, and each provides unique and diverse learning experiences. From costumes to role responsibilities, participants will find that no two jobs are the same. However, all program participants will have the opportunity to develop their communication and problem-solving skills, and also work on their confidence and self-reliance. 

Positions: Quick Service Food & Beverage, Merchandise, Attractions, Custodial, Character Performer, Costuming, Full Service Food & Beverage, Lifeguard, Recreation, Character Attendant

Note: All positions are frontline positions, involving in selling, operating cash registers, greeting park visitors, store operations, stocking, cleaning and maintenance work. No back office duties. Some of the positions require you to work outdoor under the sun with no air-conditioning. All positions require you to work shifts and also on public holidays depending on operational needs.  While you will have a 5-day work week, your day offs will vary from week to week.

We advise all applicants to visit the Disney International Programs official website and study the role descriptions carefully before submitting your application.

Pay rate (for 2020):  US$11.00 per hour. Receive weekly paycheck. Guarantee minimum 30 hours per week.

Disney Education:

Disney UniversityDisney International Programs participants have the opportunity to learn from experienced Disney professionals. Students can also take advantage of valuable resources at the Cast Service Centers or Disney Learning Centers, which are self-directed career resource centers located throughout the Walt Disney World® Resort, including one at the Vista Way apartments.

partyDisney established these centers to provide all Walt Disney World® Cast Members access to the tools they need for ongoing career development. These centers have become a staple of the Disney International Programs learning experience. Each location is staffed to offer hands-on assistance when needed. Lingnan students on the Program are highly encouraged to make use of these valuable resources to deepen your knowledge, learn new cultures and languages and seek career advice on career preparation and CV writing.

 

 

Subsidy to Lingnan University students

Students who are being offered a place by the Disney Group in this Cultural Exchange Programme will be entitled to a subsidy of HK$8,000 from the Office of Student Affairs on condition that he/she is:Mirth Gang

  • a full-time non-final year student from UGC-funded degree programmes; and
  • with satisfactory CGPA - normally above 2.0; and
  • has no outstanding payment with the University, e.g., tuition fees, hostel fees or library fines

The recipient of the HK$8,000 subsidy must complete the Disney Cultural Exchange Program in FULL - meaning no early departure and late arrival. If the work period specified is incomplete, the Office of Student Affairs has the sole discretion to demand the return of the full subsidy amount from the recipient.
