1. Learn about "Sexual Violence" and "Image-based Sexual Violence";
2. Understand the concept of "consent" and how it plays out in daily life; and
3. Know how to avoid or respond to "Image-based Sexual Violence".

In addition to introducing the Anti480 Anti-Sexual Violence Resource Centre, the speaker will use videos, case discussions, role-play, and case sharing to highlight "Image-based Sexual Violence" and advise the participants on how to avoid and respond to "Image-based Sexual Violence".

1. Learn foreign languages through watching movies and role-playing; and
2. Acquiring vacabulary and writting skills through news reports and literature.

The workshop has three parts: 1） the instructor will introduce her own experiece with learning three foreign languages (English, Japanese and Hebrew). 2) the instructor will introduce related resources for learning foreign languages. 3) examples and practices will then be carried out in small groups.

2. Recognise the impact of poor money management; and
3. Explore the importance of understanding income and expenditure.

Every one wants to become financially independent but often does not know where to begin. This workshop will guide students through money management skills and take a more active role in managing their finances. The workshop will help students begin to manage their money responsibly and to plan for the future.

1. Develop students' problem-solving skills and use of imagination through Lego Series Play Workshop.

1. Develop their sense to appreciate modern visual art and life in general;
2. Exchange their thoughts and stimulate their sense of the conflicts in a different culture; and
3. Understand how they can engage in movie aesthetics.

This activity will share the movie with students together. We will discuss the movie at the same time to develop their artistic sense of the movie. Let's watch the movie together and after that, we will have a greater sense of appreciating the movie in the future.

1. Understand the key elements of a well-written CV;
2. Know the common mistakes of writing CV; and
3. Use appropriate wordings to describe the working experience.

A workshop aimed at introducing students to general CV-writing guidelines, Do's and Don't's, along with some common tips to optimize their profiles, and lastly common mistakes to avoid.

1. Learn about the background of Osho Zen Tarot and the brief concept of instrusive reading of the Tarot cards; and
2. Engage in a body scan mediation exercise to enhance their focus to intuitive insights and mindfulness.

In the workshop, focusing on Osho Zen Tarot cards, the concept of intrusive Tarot reading, a technique that allows users to tap into their own intuition and personal insights when interpreting Tarot cards, will be introduced. The relationship between mediation and intrusive tarot reading will also be explored. Participants will be invited to raise questions of themselves to demonstrate intrusive tarot reading.

1. Know more about the life of being a writer in Hong Kong;
2. Learn more about the significance and constraints of literary creation; and
3. Understand more about the complicated relationship between imagination and reality in fiction writing.

How's the life of being a writer in Hong Kong? Young but reputable writer/poet Richard Hon will share his precious experience along his writing career in Hong Kong and Taiwan, discussing his award winner fiction Virtual Wind and Rain (虛風構雨).

1. Expose to Chinese calligraphy and Chinese New Year culture;
2. Acquire basic Chinese calligraphy skills; and
3. Communicate with other students and exchange festive ideas while making Fai Chun.

The Chinese Style: Fai Chun Workshop is an engaging activity designed to allow students to expose to traditional Chinese culture, including Chinese calligraphy and Chinese New Year traditions. They will be introduced to the background of the Fai Chun culture, and have the chance to make their own Fai Chun as festive decorations.

1. Increase their confidence in using English;
2. Improve their English language vocabulary; and
3. Improve their English language listening skills.

Through a variety of board games and team games, students will get to practise their listening and verbal skills in English. Specially selected games such as Taboo and Pictionary will focus on participants' linguistic skills through a fun-filled environment.

1. Grasp the basic knowledge of different social dancing types;
2. Appreciate music for social dances; and
3. Experience social dance movements for beginners with music vibes.

The Social Dance workshop is an exciting and engaging activity providing students with basic knowledge and skills involved in different types of social dances. At the workshop, students will try social dance steps together, and enjoy dance music for social dances so as to appreciate this long-established culture of social functions and context.

1. Know about the living experience of a language learner studying and working in Japan;
2. Understand and embrace cultural differences between Hong Kong and Japan; and
3. Reflect and respond to the multi-cultural environment of the hostel community.

This sharing session will provide students with a basic introduction to Japanese culture from a language learner who has studied and worked in Japan. Students will learn about the uniqueness of Japanese culture, including aspects such as language and customs, in comparison to Hong Kong. Also, they will gain practical tips for future overseas study or work opportunities in Japan.

1. Learn how to tailor and build a stand-out CV
2. Understand common CV mistakes and how to avoid them; and
3. Get expert advice from our language teacher

This workshop will give students a basic introduction to tailoring and writing an attractive CV. Students will understand the Dos and Don'ts in CV writing and acquire some practical writing tips to help guide their career journey.

1. Understand the importance of saving and investing at an early age, because of the principle of compounding;
2. Understand the reciprocal relationship between debt and savings; and
3. Understand the basic types of investment vehicles available and the advantages and disadvantages of each.

This programme is premised on the fact that investing is a lifetime project, and the time to start is early adulthood. This will be a very practical talk and Q&A session, led by the Warden of Hall H, who has saved and invested throughout the dot-com bubble and crash (1997-2001), the US housing bubble, the financial crisis/ “Great Recession” of 2007-09, and the volatility around Brexit (among other episodes), and has lived to tell about it.

1. Improve participants' leadership ability by strengthening their presentation and public speaking skills, as well as confidence and ability to convey ideas in English.
2. Improve critical thinking and problem solving prowess, as the participants will be required to get clues, solve riddles and complete mental tasks.
3. Bolster participants' appreciation of working together collaboratively in teams.
4. Foster a greater sense of community in WHC as participants interact with, learn from, and enjoy the company of other hostel residents.

Participants would be grouped into teams, follow clues, solve riddles in English, and perform actions such as speaking challenges to progress further, and ultimately complete the activity.

Participants can learn how to appreciate modern visual art and life through the movie sharing night.

2. Experience and appreciate handicraft work; and
3. Make new friends in the workshop.

The Y2K (Year 2000) craze is back in the 2020s. In this workshop, students will experience making a Y2K-style phone strap. The instructor will provide a variety of accessories to choose from, allowing students to create freely, and explain the origins and pop culture of Y2K.

2. Enhance writing skills;
3. Promote self-editing and proofreading abilities; and
4. Foster awareness of audience and context.

This workshop provides participants with valuable insights into improving their writing skills and avoiding common errors. Through a combination of interactive discussions, practical examples, and hands-on exercises, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the most prevalent writing mistakes and learn how to rectify them.

1. Gain a deeper understanding of the vision behind movies;
2. Identify basic cinematography techniques; and
3. Delve into popular culture through cinema.

This workshop allows student to learn about movie tropes, techniques in a light and fun manners, through free-and-easy group discussions about their favorite movies. There will be examples and clips to allow students to gain a deeper understanding of directors' visions and different artistic styles through movie as an artwork.
