具影響力的研究有助塑造工作文化

 

無論他們的研究範疇是什麼,學術界前線的每一位學者都有類似的雄心,都希望自己的研究工作能夠受到關注,並產生影響,但在眾多研究項目都在爭取關注和發表的時候,這並不容易。

 

然而,嶺南大學經過精心挑選和提供支援,找到方法可以將其教授和研究團隊的突破性研究工作讓廣大的國際讀者知悉。

 

這一點不僅從文章被引用次數、頒授的獎項數目和受邀在有影響力的學術活動上發言的次數可以證實,而且還在許多備受重視的排名榜上的優秀成績得到證實,這些排名榜定期比較亞洲和世界各地高等院校的相對優勢。

 

事實上,在2022年中發佈的最新泰晤士報高等教育(THE)影響力排名中,嶺大在 「優質教育 」方面排名世界第三。在大中華區,即包括大陸、澳門和台灣,嶺大在整體影響力方面名列前十名。它在促進 「體面工作和經濟增長」方面的研究工作排名第六。「體面工作和經濟增長」是聯合國17個可持續發展目標(SDG)之一,旨在於未來幾十年改善每個人的生活。

 

作為第八個可持續發展目標,「體面工作和經濟增長」目的是在不同國家和社區促進可持續和具包容性的經濟增長。

 

這項目標的重點要求社會創造條件,讓大家有良好的工作機會並獲得公平的報酬,而且有機會為自己和家人實現更好的前景。

 

嶺大從兩個不同的層面去體現這個目標。一個是建立管治架構和運作模式,以確保校內工作人員的福祉,並確保畢業的學生會在投入職場前做好充分的準備。

 

另一個層面是開展各項研究,探索當前經濟模式和工作場所中的各種現象並形成有影響力的研究成果。

 

這些現象包括企業領導力、壓力管理和心理健康,以及因為科技的發展淘汰了許多傳統的工作,那些仍然處於或接近金字塔底部的工人的福利和工作條件。

 

通過研究這些與第八項可持續發展目標相關的主題及其影響,學者們有機會與社會接觸,並通過知識轉移施加影響。這可以帶來真正的改變,並在香港和海外留下持久的影響,嶺大最近開展的一些研究就證明了這一點。

 

例如,管理學系王楠教授提出的研究項目:「危機事件後員工表現的個人內部動力」,就是一個幾乎所有僱主在新冠肺炎之後都要面對的問題。

 

同樣來自管理學系的陳婷婷教授一直在研究三個截然不同但又互相關連的課題。一個是 「工作中的員工沉默」,以及對上司、同事和團隊生產力的影嚮。第二個課題循自我驗證或自我提升兩個方向去理解自我表現和真正的領導力對企業信任和績效的影響。第三個課題是研究不同風格的領導力如何增強組織的競爭優勢,並從現有的「人力資本」中獲取更多。

 

也是來自管理學系的李娜教授一直就香港和其他地方共有的主題進行研究。一個典型的例子是關於互聯網在員工日常工作中所扮演的角色及對工作成果影響的研究。另一個例子是研究在現代城市環境中快遞員如何面對社交媒體上的帖子和每天受到的客戶欺凌。李教授現在已經開始研究一個 「雙重策略模式」,探討資歷超逾的員工如何可以成為一個有效的領導者。

 

嶺大許多與第八項可持續發展目標相關的跨學科研究項目也在進行當中。

 

應用心理學系的張宇樂教授正在進行一項試點研究,探討本地和中國大陸新移民在職業健康方面的差異。經濟學系的一個小組正在研究香港目前的競爭政策是否能夠應對與大灣區經濟日益融合的挑戰。而文化研究系的潘毅教授正在領導一個關於 「移民、流動性和勞工 」的研究項目。

 

潘教授的研究目的是要檢討現行的工作條件和措施,以保護中國大陸農民工的利益。研究將特別關注較新的經濟範疇,例如物流、高速鐵路服務的發展和線上平台。這將有助於理解在中國不斷發展的「基礎設施資本主義 」背景下中國的新工人階級。
