I was a Research Assistant in the Visual Studies Programme before becoming a PhD student. As a research staff, my exposure to the professors and students made me want to become part of the VS family. The interdisciplinary approach to the visual arts matched my own interest and work in the field. As a doctoral student with a background in music and arts management, I contributed to conducting service-learning activities. At the same time I learnt much from fellow students who have a strong background in artistic practices and aesthetics. There was always something to learn in lectures, service-learning activities and even over lunch boxes in a crowded dormitory.

Now, as a lecturer, independent researcher and community artist, I am constantly in touch with fellow graduates and my doctoral supervisor to discuss current practices, new trends and theories. In VS, I learnt how to learn, and this is what I am still doing.
