趙傑鋒博士

Henry Kit-fung Chiu graduated from Visual Studies at Lingnan University and obtained his Master degree (Dean's list) and PhD from The Chinese University of Hong Kong with a dissertation on pre-war Hong Kong cinema. His research interest lies primarily in film history, Hong Kong cinema and popular culture and has been teaching related subjects in different universities upon completion of the doctoral degree. His articles on Hong Kong cinema have been published by the Hong Kong Film Archive and in a peer-reviewed English journal.

Caroline HA THUC博士

兼任講師 (2022-23年度上學期)

Dr Caroline Ha Thuc is an independent art writer, researcher and curator. She holds a Ph.D. from the School of Creative Media, City University HK and is currently a part-time researcher at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. Specialized in Asian contemporary art, Ha Thuc contributes regularly to different academic journals and magazines, focusing on the artistic production of knowledge. She published books about the Hong Kong art scene, Japanese and Chinese contemporary art. As a curator, she focuses on promoting dialogue between artists from different cultures, while reflecting on social and political contemporary issues. Her main exhibitions include Constructing Mythologies (Edouard Malingue Gallery, Hong Kong 2018), Documenting Myanmar (Charbon Art Space, Hong Kong 2018), Carnival (Amnesty International Hong Kong, 2017), Human Vibrations (5th Large-scale Urban Media Arts Festival, 2016), The Human Body: Measure and Norms (Blindspot Gallery, Hong Kong, 2015), Shelters of Resistance an in-situ installation in Paris courtyard of the 4th City Hall (YIA Art Fair Paris, 2015), Hong Kong Bestiary (Platform China, Hong Kong, 2014), Radiance (French May, Hong Kong, 2014).

Florian KNOTHE教授

兼任講師 (2022-23年度下學期)

Part-time Associate Professor, The University of Hong Kong

Dr Florian Knothe studies and teaches the history of decorative arts in the 17th and 18th centuries with particular focus on the social and historic importance of royal French manufacture. He has long been interested in the early modern fascination with Chinoiserie and the way royal workshops and smaller private enterprises helped to create and cater to this long-lasting fashion. Florian is currently also teaching Museum Studies at the University of Hong Kong’s Art History department.


Dr Knothe started his career at The Metropolitan Museum of Art focusing on European Sculpture and Decorative Arts. Before joining The University of Hong Kong, where he now serves as Director of the University Museum and Art Gallery, Dr Knothe was the curator of European glass at The Corning Museum of Glass overseeing the European and East Asian departments. There, he organized an exhibition on East Meets West, and afterward, lectured internationally on cross-cultural influences in art and workshop practices in Western Europe and East Asia.

郭燕寧博士

Kwok, Yin Ning, Elaine obtained her BA degree (double majors in art history and film studies with First Class Honors), MPhil degree and PhD (in art history on HKU Postgraduate Studentships and University Postgraduate Fellowship) from the University of Hong Kong. She teaches courses on Western and Chinese art history. Since 2014 she has been teaching two MA courses on Chinese art history (before and after 1900). She also taught courses on art theory for the CUHK MA program in Visual Culture Studies; four survey and thematic courses on contemporary Western art history for a BA program at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (offshore campus in Hong Kong) during 2014-2017. For Christie’s Education (Asia) she has taught Western art history on various topics since 2014. Her research interests embrace art history and aesthetics (Western and Chinese), and cross-cultural interaction history between Europe and China. On these subjects, her publications appear in academic journals and publishing institutes including Grove Dictionary of Art, Grove Art Online, Oxford Art Online, Oxford University Press.

黎雋維博士

Charles Lai is a British Architect and researcher in the history and conservation of Hong Kong and Asia modern architecture. He received his PhD degree in architectural history and theory from the University of Hong Kong Department of Architecture, and diploma degree from the AA School of Architecture in London. Charles is currently Partner of the architectural studio a o n a. He is also a member of the DOCOMOMO HK and his researches explore the history of modern architecture in East and Southeast Asia, the material culture and history of Shanghai plaster, as well as the conservation of historical built heritages.

羅雅詠博士(魂游)

兼任講師 (2022-23年度下學期)

As a cross-media artist, researcher, curator and writer, Wen Yau obtained her MA in Cultural and Media Studies at The University of the West of England, Bristol, UK and her PhD at the Academy of Visual Arts, Hong Kong Baptist University. In 2015-2016, she served as Fulbright Visiting Scholar at the Performance Studies Department at the Northwestern University, USA. She also worked as researcher at the Asia Art Archive and produced a few substantial research projects. She teaches courses on art theory, contemporary art in social and political contexts, performative practices, interdisciplinary practices, curatorial practices, etc at various institutions in Hong Kong. Her research employs practice-based approaches and is often informed by her practice-led knowledge. Her interests lie in the intersection between contemporary art, the public sphere, and society. She publishes frequently in various periodicals and journals in Hong Kong and around the world, and presents in numerous international academic conferences and panels. Wen Yau also exhibits internationally as a practising artist. Her works are often site-specific and grapple with cultural difference and intimacy in public space.

李小燕女士

Cora Lee received her Bachelor of Arts from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Master of Arts in East Asian Art from London Sotheby's Institute of Art, United Kingdom. She also obtained the Executive Certificate in Archives Management. She had 8 years’ experience in art curating for Heritage and Museums Division, Leisure and Cultural Services Department, and a local university; and 5 years’ experience in managing the art gallery and art brand collections. Cora is Head of Education of Hong Kong Maritime Museum who has strong interests in researching on art and historical collections, and their cultural values in our society.

梁展峰先生

Leung Chin Fung, Jeff, is an independent curator and part-time lecturer at local universities, he got the B.A (Fine Art) and M.A. (Practical Philosophy) locally. Before teaching and curating, Jeff had worked on exhibition administration and production in art institutions and galleries over ten years, for instance the Hong Kong Pavilion at the ‘Venice Biennale’ (2003) and “1+1: Four Regions Two Strait Artistic Exchange Project” (2010-2011). Jeff is the member of the art critics group Art Appraisal Club and International Association of Art Critics Hong Kong respectively. 劉南茜女士

Nanxi Liu is a community art worker, performance artist, researcher, curator, and a Hong Kong Sign Language learner. She has been working in inclusive arts and arts for empowerment since 2013. Her research and practice relates to socially engaged art and psychoanalysis, domestic violence and art therapy, Disability politics and community arts. Now she works as project manager of Centre for Community Cultural Development.

吳妮娜博士

兼任講師 (2022-23年度上學期)

Camellia Ni-Na Ng completed her Ph. D in History of Chinese Arts at Chinese University of Hong Kong and obtained her master’s degree in Art Gallery and Museum Studies from the University of Leicester, England. Also, she received her MPhil in Visual Studies at Lingnan University. She was a visiting scholar at the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago. Her dissertation focusses on the art and cultural exchange between Shanghai and Japan in the 19th century. Her research interests include art and cultural exchange among Asian countries, oversea collections of Chinese Arts and art history from late imperial period to contemporary.

黃淑賢女士

Wong received her Master of Fine Art (Creative Media) from School of Creative Media, City University of Hong Kong and holds a Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) degree from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) University. Her works have been shown in Hong Kong and internationally; including the Lisbon Art Weekend (2022), Singapore Art Week (2021), Hong Kong International Photo Festival (2020), Hong Kong Heritage Museum (2018), Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre (2018), Oi! Street Art Space (2017), and EXIS Korea (2017). She was one of the selected artists for 1a Space’s Emerging Talents in Contemporary Art (2020), Art-Uni-On (AUO) Artist Mentoring Program (2017) in Korea, and was awarded a scholarship from Hong Kong Art Centre to attend the Culture, Graphic Design and Fine Arts program in New York School of Visual Arts (2013).


As the founder of an independent art group, Altermodernists, Elaine is devoted to the documentation of artists’ creative processes and promote visual arts in Hong Kong. She also leads projects to produce digital content for art and cultural institutions including M+ Museum, Museum of Art, Hong Kong Heritage Museum, WMA, JCCAC etc.

黃悅行博士

WONG Yuet Heng received her PhD in History of Art and Archaeology at SOAS, the University of London, and her BA and MPhil in Art History from the University of Hong Kong. She was also a visiting scholar at the École française d’Extrême-Orient, and a recipient of Great Britain China Award, Percival David Foundation Writing-up Grant, École française d’Extrême-Orient Fieldwork Scholarship, Universities China Committee in London Grants, and Hong Kong Scholarship of Excellence Scheme (awarded the title of Hong Kong Scholar). Wong has worked at Hong Kong University Museum and Art Gallery and the Art History Department at the University of Hong Kong. Her research interest lies in the cross-cultural representation and conceptualisation of Chinese art. She has published several articles and given conference presentations on the collecting and display of Chinese art in late 19th-century Paris, and started a book project on the trans-regional and trans-medial representation of the Lingnan School of Painting across the Asia-Pacific.

張子木博士

兼任講師 (2022-23年度上學期)

ZHANG Zimu is a researcher and moving image practitioner. She is one of the awarded researchers of the 2022 Landhaus fellowship at the Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society. Her research focuses on the conjunction of visual culture, society of control and the Anthropocene. She is also active in filmmaking, curating and socially engaged art practices. Her films and art projects have been featured in international film festivals and art events including European Media Art Festival, Doclisboa, Visible Evidence, Video Vortex, China Independent Film Festival, etc. She has curated screening programs for Singapore International film festival, Inner Mongolian Film Week and Arkipel Documentary and Experimental Film Festival (2016) as the selected Asian Young Curator. She was also an alumnus of Berlinale Talent Campus (2016). Starting in 2021, she co-curates a screening project “Black Tent Theatre” with curator Zhang Hanlu to feature multicultural and ecological films in the Guangdong Times Museum.
