42-hour Advanced Business Communication

Students who are admitted with the minimum English requirement (i.e. a band score of 5.5 and 6.0 in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS); or a score of 550 (paper-based test) or a score of 79 or below (internet-based test) in the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)) and those who are admitted with an equivalent recognized English qualification are COMPULSORY to attend a 42-hour Advanced Business Communication offered by Lingnan Institute of Further Education (LIFE) in Term 1. The tuition fee for the course is HK$6,000 (subject to change depending on the University). Students must obtain a grade of ‘Pass” or above in the Advanced Business Communication to fulfil the graduation requirement.

IDE 001 Economics (30 hours)

This course aims to emphasize the basics of economic principles and economic. It also aims to enable students to apply economic principles to analyze current economic issues and problems.

IDE 002 Mathematics and Statistics (20 hours)

The objective of this course is to introduce students to the basic mathematical and statistical methods that are essential for studying International and Development Economics. Upon the completion of this course, students should be familiar with the basic quantitative tools and be able to apply them at work and in research.
