Professor Ho Lok-sang is a part time lecturer at the Economics Department. He taught at the Chinese University of Hong Kong before joining Lingnan at the end of 1995. At Lingnan he had served as head of Economics Department and Director of the Centre for Public Policy Studies before retiring in 2015. He was Dean of Business at Chu Hai College of Higher Education from 2016 to 2019.
Prof. Ho's research covers a broad spectrum of public policy areas and, apart from about 110 journal articles and book chapters, has authored several books including Psychology and Economics of Happiness, Public Policy and the Public Interest, Health Policy and the Public Interest (all from Routledge), and edited a number of books including Happiness and Public Policy (Palgrave Macmillan), Public Governance in Asia and the Limits of Electoral Democracy (Edward Elgar), APEC and the Rise of China (World Scientific), Education Reform and the Quest for Exellence: the Hong Kong Story (HKU Press).
