BA (Honours) in Contemporary English Studies (For 2023-24 Intake)

The BA Contemporary English Studies (BACES) programme aims to provide an all-round English education within Lingnan’s liberal arts environment, characterised by close attention to teaching and small class sizes. By engaging with a range of perspectives on language and literature in today’s interconnected world, students are equipped to be critical, creative, adaptable, and intercultural. Students are encouraged to participate in the university’s Student Exchange Programme in a country where English is the medium of instruction. A well-established Writer-in-Residence programme provides opportunities for creative expression and experiential learning.

All Lingnan students follow a common programme of general education and language courses along with their major studies. The BACES programme consists of both required and elective courses in two strands: Contemporary Literary Studies and Contemporary Language Studies.
