The Department of English contributes to Lingnan’s liberal arts environment by providing varied opportunities for experiential learning as part of the BACES programme.

| With generous support from the Lingnan Foundation as well as from university funding, the Department has hosted a Writer-in-Residence in most years. The Writer-in-Residence offers elective courses in his or her areas of interest as well as developing students’ creative writing abilities and enabling them to see their work in print via an in-house literary journal.
