Four Business Scholars ranked World's Top 2% Scientists by Stanford

Congratulations to Prof Dean William Tjosvold, Emeritus Professor at the Department of Management; Prof Man Leung Wong, Professor and Head of the Department of Computing and Decision Sciences; Prof Haoran Xie, Associate Professor of the Department of Computing and Decision Sciences; and the late Prof Michael Firth are in the World’s Top 2% Scientists 2020 released by Stanford University in the US recently.

Professor Xie, whose research expertise focuses on artificial intelligence, big data and educational technologies, is the new Business member being listed on the prestigious list.

Professor Tjosvold has published over 200 articles and 20 books on cooperation and competition, managing conflict, leadership and power. He is past President of the International Association for Conflict Management and a member of the Academy of Management’s Board of Governors.

Professor Wong's field is research on data mining and knowledge discovery, machine learning, evolutionary algorithms, knowledge-based systems, fuzzy sets theory and internet commerce.

Professor Firth, who passed away in 2016, made an immeasurable contribution to Lingnan and academia as a whole, and left an enduring legacy. Professor Firth’s background was in accounting, and he published more than 200 articles, books and monographs on accounting, auditing, economics and finance.

The study, is conducted by Stanford University to list top 2% of the World Scientists in 22 major fields, which systematically ranks world scientists based on standardized citation metrics.
