Entrance Requirements

To be eligible for entry into MSc in Finance, applicants should:

  1. Hold a Bachelor’s degree with a first class or second class honours from a recognized tertiary institution or have equivalent experiences and qualifications, which will be considered on a case-by-case basis; and

  2. Proof of English proficiency is required for applicants whose Bachelor's Degree was obtained from non-English medium institution, applicants must meet one of the following requirements.

    • TOEFL - minimum acceptable score of 550 (paper-based test) or 213 (computer-based test) or 79 (internet-based test) or
    • IELTS - minimum acceptable score of 6.5

Applicants who do not fulfil the above language requirements but have an equivalent score in a recognized test, or an equivalent qualification assessment to prove their language proficiency may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Applicants will enjoy admission preference if they have work experiences and/or have professional qualifications in finance, insurance, accounting, actuarial science, and others.

A recent GMAT or GRE test score, while not required, will be helpful in determining admittance into the programme.


Pre-entry Course

Applicants with no or limited background in finance, accounting, and statistics in their Bachelor's degree will be required to complete a Pre-entry Course prior to the start of this Programme.

Application Fee - HKD $400

Tuition Fee - The tuition fee for the Academic Year 2020/21 is HKD $188,000 for local students and HKD $208,000 for non-local students; the tuition fee for Pre-entry Course "Financial Management and Statistics" is HKD $12,000.

Paid fees are NOT refundable/transferable no matter the student completes the Programme or not.



Academic Scholarships
Scholarships might be considered for outstanding students on the basis of academic merit. All students admitted to the Programme will be automatically qualified for the award of scholarships.

Wu Ho Loo Ning Scholarship
Wu Yee Sun Charitable Foundation Limited donated an endowment fund of HKD $1,000,000 to award annual scholarship(s) of HKD $20,000 each to a full-time postgraduate student in the field of international banking and/or finance (including insurance).
