Entrance Requirements

To be eligible for entry into MSc in Finance, applicants should:

  1. Hold a Bachelor’s degree awarded by a recognized tertiary institution or have equivalent qualifications, which will be considered on a case-by-case basis; and

  2. Proof of English proficiency is required for applicants whose Bachelor's degree was obtained from non-English medium institution, applicants must meet one of the following requirements.

    • IELTS - minimum acceptable score of 6.5; or
    • TOEFL - minimum acceptable score of 550 (paper-based test) or 79 (internet-based test)

*Applicants who do not fulfil the above language requirements but have an equivalent score in a recognized test, or an equivalent qualification assessment to prove their language proficiency may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

*A recent GMAT or GRE test score, while not required, will be helpful in determining admittance into the Programme.

 

Pre-entry Course

Applicants with no or limited background in finance, accounting, and statistics in their Bachelor's degree will be required to pass a Pre-entry Course prior to the start of this Programme.

Fees

Application Fee - HKD $400

Tuition Fee - The tuition fee for the Academic Year 2024/25 is HKD $218,000 for local students and HKD $300,000 for non-local students; The tuition fee for Pre-entry Course "Financial Management and Statistics" is HKD $12,000.

*Fees paid are NOT refundable/transferable no matter the student completes the Programme or not.

 

Scholarships

Academic Scholarships
Scholarships might be considered for outstanding students on the basis of academic merit. All students admitted to the programme will automatically be the candidates for the scholarships.

 

Wu Ho Loo Ning Scholarship
Wu Yee Sun Charitable Foundation Limited donated an endowment fund of HKD $1,000,000 to award annual scholarship(s) of HKD $20,000 each to a full-time postgraduate student in the field of international banking and/or finance (including insurance).

 

Financial Assistance

Local students are eligible for applying the Extended Non-means Tested Loan Scheme (ENLS). For eligibility and details, please visit the Working Family and Student Financial Assistance Agency's website.

 

Application Period (Academic Year 2024/25)

Application starts from 1 October 2023 and close on 30 April 2024. For interested students, please submit your application via our online application system. Only online application will be accepted.
