簡介

《香港本地教育論壇》 ( 以下簡稱《論壇》 ) 為嶺南大學群芳文化研究及發展部舉辦的《教育與文化研究:國際研討會》壓軸項目。《論壇》專為本港教育工作者而設,集中探討本地教育工作者所關注的教育議題,旨在從香港的社會脈絡中,尋找文化研究與教育之間互動發展的各種可能性。

Introduction

Workshops for Local School Teachers and Students is the finale of the two-and-a-half day International Symposium on Education and Cultural Studies. It aims to offer new experiences with alternative pedagogies for teachers and students in the areas of Integrated Humanities (IH) and Liberal Studies (LS) in the secondary school context. In so doing, it seeks to open up discussion related to conceptual and theoretical inquiry in educational issues in the areas of IH/LS.

Workshop Description:

As science as advanced more and more, its technological products have abounded, penetrating into the society in a variety of ways. However, the language of the foundations and workings of science has become increasingly complex and technical, retreating more and more from ordinary society. Consequently, a distancing between the working of science and society at large has become increasingly evident; making many people feel that science and culture are opposites of each other and have little in common.

The separation of science subjects and arts and humanities in education has further strengthened this distancing. However, as issues of environment, climate change, food shortages, Information and Communication technologies and so on have gripped the World, the separation of science and culture has come into sharp criticism; and there are increasing demands for cross-disciplinary subjects and an integration of human processes and scientific understandings.

In this workshop we shall explore the needs and possibilities of such integration concretely through examples from alternate science education, climate change and environmental issues.

教育改革,想教育定改革?角色扮演,係扮 嘢 定演 嘢 ?

學生和老師,在教育改革中應扮演甚麼角色?面對教育改革,要學會學習、評價評估;又要學習評估、評估學習,究竟是評估抑或學習?

本工作坊探討如何透過戲劇和角色扮演學習人文學科和通識科,作為對教育的一種改革。

工作坊簡介 Introduction

新高中通識科強調研習當代重要議題,培養多角度思考,在這背景下,提供資訊的傳媒無可避免成為師生搜集資料的對象。然而,競爭激烈的經營環境,衍生了不少有關傳媒公信力和操守問題。可以說,「傳媒」本身就是一個極具爭議性的課題,既要通過傳媒來研習,師生不得不對其特質有比較全面的了解。

這節工作坊旨在通過幾個「實驗」,探討利用傳媒學習不得不知的幾個策略。

Donna Shun-Chi CHU is Assistant Professor of School of Journalism and Communication, Chinese University of Hong Kong. Her research interests are n ew media and civic society , g ender and media , y outh media production , p opular culture and cultural studies , m edia Literacy/media education , and e ntertainment industries .

朱順慈 , 香港中文大學新聞與傳播學院助理教授。研究興趣包括新媒體、青少年媒體製作和創作、傳媒教育等。

Lin-ching HSIA is Professor and Head of Department of Psychology, Fu Jen Catholic University. She is specialized in Group Dynamics Organization Learning, Action Research, Adult Education

夏林清 , 輔仁大學心理學系教授兼系主任 美國哈佛大學博士 專長性別與心理治療、生涯發展與成人教育、團體動力與社群發展、組織學習與專業實踐、家庭關係

Muriel Yuen-fun LAW currently works at Kwan Fong Cultural Research and Development Programme, coordinating a research project on a school-based curriculum implementation at the junior secondary levels. Law is also a drama practitioner and is interested developing Drama in Education in local schools to explore social issues and English language learning. She received formal teacher training at the Northcote College of Education and obtained her BA and MA from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and MPhil in Cultural Studies in Lingnan University, is currently taking the Master of Drama Education Programme offered by Griffith University.

羅婉芬 , 現職於嶺南大學群芳文化研究及發展部,負責統籌一項中學課程改革的研究項目。亦是戲劇教育工作者,擅於以戲劇手法如過程戲劇、影象劇場等,探討社會議題和教授英文。曾任教中學英文科;又透過教統局的戲劇教育「種籽」計劃,發展初中戲劇科。研究興趣包括文化研究與教育、戲劇教育、英語的學與教和課程發展。現正修讀戲劇教育碩士課程,致力研究戲劇教育在學校教育,或課堂內,或課堂外,所能達致的教育效應。

Vinod RAINA , a theoretical physicist, pioneered quality science teaching in rural schools of some of the poorest parts of India. Has helped to evolve the People's Science Movement, something unique in India, that attempts to empower people to plan and implement their own developmental ideas and needs, so as to reverse the trickle-down paradigm of development. Has worked in developing alternative school curriculum for rural areas, trained rural teachers, edited a children's magazine and a developmental news feature service.

文諾 , 物理科學家,是民眾科學運動的核心成員。 90 年代初,民眾科學運動協助印度政府推廣掃盲運動,設立專注教育的組織「印度促進科技知識與智慧協會」( BGVS )。掃盲運動用了微薄的經費、卻動員了大量義務人力資源,短短 5 年間,幾百萬義務工作者為幾千萬人掃盲,成就驕人, KSSP 在 1996 年獲頒發號稱另類諾貝爾民生獎的「優質民生獎」( Right Livelihood Award )。文諾曾任多屆印度政府教育委員會委員,也是著名的尼赫魯學院院士。他的組織「艾嘉娃」( Eklavya )編輯兒童雜誌,推廣少年科學運動。

Jack SHU obtained his B.A. in English Language and Literature and M.Phil. in Translation at the Hong Kong Baptist University, M.A. in Drama Education and Cultural Studies and Ph.D. from the University of Warwick, thesis titled “The ‘Unthinking Thinker’: the Reflexive Teacher for Integrated Drama Education”. Jack has been Drama Teaching Artist at EMB (implementing “Drama-in-Education Seed Project” and “Secondary School Drama Education Seed Project”), Graduate Master for QualiEd College teaching Drama and Liberal Studies, Chairperson for Academic Programme Committee for IDEA Congress 2007. He co-translated into Chinese with Amy Lee Structuring Drama Work: a Handbook of Available Forms in Theatre and Drama (written by Jonothan Neelands and Tony Goode). Jack is now Lecturer for School of Education and Languages of the Open University of Hong Kong.

舒志義 ,香港浸會大學英國語言文學士及翻譯學哲學碩士,英國華威大學戲劇教育碩士及哲學博士,論文以反思型戲劇教師、戲劇課程與戲劇教學法為研究範圍。曾任教統局戲劇教學藝術家(專責推行「戲劇教學法種籽計劃」及「中學戲劇教育」種子計劃)、匯知中學戲劇科及通識科教師、「第六屆國際戲劇與教育聯盟大會」學術委員會主席,與李慧心合譯 Jonothan Neelands 與 Tony Goode 合著之《建構戲劇 ―― 戲劇教學策略 70 式》。舒氏現為香港公開大學教育及語文學院講師。
