Issue No. 61 Nov 2016
The annual Thanksgiving Dinner, jointly organised by the Student Services Centre, ten Warden’s Offices and Chaplain’s Office, was held at Sin Cho Ming Function Hall on 17 November and participated by more than 300 students and staff members.
Apart from an introduction on the origin and history of the Thanksgiving Day, Prof Joseph Cheng, Programme Director of the Master of Finance Programme, was invited to share his experience of celebrating Thanksgiving when he lived in the US, so that students can learn about the culture of Thanksgiving in different places. Participants enjoyed a warm and joyful evening with fantastic music and dance performance by the missions organisation Youth With A Mission (YWAM), while at the same time tasted traditional dishes for Thanksgiving celebration such as turkey and cranberry sauces.
