Alumni share career development experience with students at dinner gathering

“Lingather Programme 2017: Alumni Career Advising Night”, organised by Student Services Centre and Department of Management, was held on 28 February at Sin Cho Ming Function Hall.  At the dinner, a total of 33 alumni from 17 career fields shared their career experience and latest development in the employment market with some 160 students.

 

In his welcoming remarks, President Leonard K Cheng thanked the enthusiastic alumni for joining the dinner, and encouraged students to acquire career information actively in order to get prepared for their career in the future.

 

Mr Jimmy Ho, distinguished alumnus and Office Managing Director and President for Hong Kong, Korn/Ferry International (HK) Ltd delivered a talk on “How to Equip Yourself and Enhance Employability in the Competitive Job Market”.  He shared with students how to enhance their self-understanding through four perspectives including competencies, experiences, traits and drivers so that they can set correct career objectives and better equip themselves.  Participating students were grateful to and greatly benefitted from the alumni’s sharing on their invaluable working experience and job hunting strategies.
