Lingnan students visit Lingnan (University) College of Sun Yat-sen University

Lingnan University’s annual student exchange programme with Lingnan (University) College, Sun Yat-sen University was held from 9 to 11 June.  A total of 77 Lingnan staff and student members from our Basketball Team, Volleyball Team, Badminton Team, Men’s Soccer Team and Debate Team visited the College in Guangzhou.

 

Supported by the Board of Trustees of the Lingnan (University) College, the programme is a traditional event in which students of the two institutions visit each other’s campus in alternate years.  This year, students of the two institutions have matches in sports events including Men’s Basketball, Women’s Basketball, Men’s Volleyball, Women’s Volleyball, Badminton and Men’s Soccer, as well as a debate competition.  The overall Champion went to Lingnan University.

 

Members of the Board of Trustees of the Lingnan (University) College attended the prize presentation ceremony cum farewell dinner on 10 June.  They were glad to see the friendship of the students from Hong Kong and Guangzhou established through the exchange programme.  Apart from prize presentation, the dinner also featured different exciting performances by students of the two institutions.  The evening was pushed to a climax when Mr Yeung King-chor, Secretary General of the Board of Trustees of Lingnan (University) College led participants to sing Lingnan songs, and the event ended in a joyful and relaxing atmosphere.

 

Through this 3-day exchange programme, students of the two institutions developed friendships and learned in a much more in-depth manner each other’s culture.
