Further to the earlier announcement of adopting a new “best five subjects” approach with subject weightings in calculating the JUPAS admission scores starting this year, the University has launched an online JUPAS Score Calculator (please click here to access the Calculator) for JUPAS applicants to easily calculate their total admission scores.

Within the General Entrance Requirements of 33222 whereby all candidates are required to take four core subjects (i.e. Chinese Language, English Language, Mathematics Compulsory Part and Liberal Studies) plus another elective of their choice for the purpose of admission to Lingnan, the University will adopt a new “best five subjects” approach with subject weightings in calculating the JUPAS admission scores for entrance to Lingnan from 2018.

This approach includes Categories A and C subjects, and excludes Mathematics Extended Part and Category B Applied Learning subjects.  The final admissions decisions will be based, after factoring in the subject weightings, on the “best five subjects” that result in the highest weighted admission scores for candidates.  Please click here for more details of the new approach, or here for details of the subject weightings.

This new approach will provide greater flexibility for JUPAS applicants who are interested in Lingnan’s liberal arts education to plan carefully and take additional elective subjects relevant for arts, business and social sciences disciplines.

The JUPAS Score Calculator is easy to operate.  JUPAS applicants can have a preliminary overview on their weighted best five scores for all Lingnan’s undergraduate programmes.  They only need to input their HKDSE examination results once and the webpage will show the weighted scores for all the University’s programmes in one screen.  This tool is useful to applicants in making informed decisions on their selection of JUPAS programme choices.
