Issue No. 82 Oct 2018
Six awardees of Lingnan University – Chow Tai Fook Student Exchange Scholarships met with a representative from Chow Tai Fook Charity Foundation, the donor on 15 August. During the meeting, students who completed their journeys shared their firsthand exchange experience while new awardees shared their expectations before setting off for exchange.
Four returning awardees went to Germany, France, South Korea and Austria in 2016/17 and 2017/18. Apart from achieving academic excellence, they have learnt the local culture and developed their interests in foreign languages. Their sharing was invaluable to the other two awardees who will go on exchange in Romania and the UK in the next academic year.
The host institute in Romania is a new partner institute of the University. The awardee is excited to be one of the first batch of Lingnan students to enjoy the study life in Romania and have cultural exchange with locals. With passion in English linguistics, another awardee has chosen the UK as her host country in order to enhance the proficiency in the use of English through daily communications.
Ms Tobey YUNG, Project Manager of Chow Tai Fook Charity Foundation encouraged the awardees to get well prepared before departure so as to adapt to a new environment and attain fruitful global learning experience.
