30 students selected to join CGCC summer internship programme working in Shanghai

30 Lingnan University students will be working as interns in Shanghai this summer for the 8-week “The Chinese General Chamber of Commerce (CGCC) Mainland Summer Internship Programme”. Apart from acquiring real-life working experience, they will also be able to witness the latest development of the Mainland, and experience the lifestyle, work culture and business operations in the mainland companies.

 

Lingnan University is one of the seven tertiary institutions to be awarded by the sponsorship.  A kick-off ceremony was held on 2 May at CGCC Hall, facilitated by Mr Kevin Yeung Yun-hung, JP, Secretary for Education of the HKSAR Government, CGCC Chairman Dr Jonathan Choi Koon-shum GBS, BBS, JP, CGCC Vice-chairmen Mr Brandon Liu Tieh-ching, JP, Vice-chairman and Office Bearer In Charge of Education & Training Committee Mr Herman Hu Shao-ming, SBS, BBS, JP, Life Honorary Chairman Mr Lam Ming-sum, BBS, Chairman of CGCC Education & Training Committee Dr Raymond Leung Hai-ming, Director of Student Services of Lingnan University Ms Jenny Ko and representatives of the other 6 tertiary institutions. 

 

At the ceremony, Lingnan BBA-Marketing Year 2 student Leung Sze-ki, who will join SHK Corporate Management (Shanghai) Co Ltd as intern this summer, expressed her appreciation to CGCC for the sponsorship and Lingnan University for its dedicated support.  She said that she is confident to perform well in the internship programme.    

 

Prominent participating companies of the programme this year include Ascott, Creative Technology Audio Visual Equipment Trading (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., Knight Frank (Shanghai) Property Consultants Co., Ltd., SHK Corporate Management (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., 4As advertising companies Wunderman/ Agenda Shanghai, Modern Media Group, Shanghai Museum of Glass; and the newly-joined companies including Guohua Life, Seventy (Shanghai) Management Consulting Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Dianjin Pingchang Financial Information Service Co., Ltd.  The internship will offer various job functions, including accounting and finance, editorial, human resources and administration, international investment, media, operations, public relations, project management, sales and marketing, shopping mall leasing and promotion and social media.
