Lingnan and Emerald join hands to promote UN's ‘Quality Education for All’ SDG and research impact

Lingnan University and leading UK publisher Emerald are working closely together to promote the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4, Quality Education for All and drive research impact.

Providing Quality Education is the core mission of Lingnan University. Despite the challenging time they have been facing during the COVID-19 pandemic, LU staff and students have worked on educational programmes, and research and community projects supporting Quality Education for All and enhancing their commitment to Inclusive Education.

And recently, Lingnan University was invited and become a signatory of the Real Impact Manifesto, an initiative put forward by Emerald, to drive research impact and, collectively, with other signatories and partners, aims to solve the challenges of social science research in a global context, and deliver sectoral change.

All signatories will champion alternatives to traditional academic metrics and rewards, find new formats and channels to disseminate research to reach a wider audience, co-design services that help researchers and research managers develop healthy practice, highlight and reward examples of research that is driving real change, develop more equitable and accessible ways to publish research and build partnerships and networks, both informal and formal, which support researchers.

The partnership not only further fosters LU’s culture of collaboration through strengthening partnerships with scholars, opinion leaders and influencers all over the world to promoting Global Education for All, but also strengthens its networks and ties with the international research community so as to conduct research with impact, striving for the betterment of mankind in line of Lingnan’s “Impact with Care” value.
