Lingnan University today appoints a three-member panel to inquire into the admission arrangements of The Community College at Lingnan University (CCLU) and Lingnan Institute of Further Education (LIFE).

The panel is tasked with investigating into and reviewing the operations of CCLU and LIFE in the admission exercise for 2012/13, including its impact on teaching and learning, with a view to making recommendations to the University on improvements thereon.

Mr Simon Ip Shing-hing, a member of the University Council, will be convenor of the panel. The members are Mr Sammy Leung Chung-sing, a member of the Board of Governors of CCLU, and Dr Kenneth Law Wing-kin, Associate Professor of the Department of Sociology and Social Policy, Lingnan University.

“We regret that some teaching arrangements and facilities are not desirable, and apologise for any inconvenience caused,” said President Chan Yuk-Shee. “We fully appreciate the disappointment and frustrations of the affected students, and are trying our best to speed up the enhancement of new teaching facilities. We treasure good and efficient management. This is why we have appointed a panel to look into this matter, and to provide recommendations for improvement accordingly.”

The inquiry panel targets to present its report and recommendations to the University within three months.
