President Leonard K Cheng led senior management of Lingnan University to demonstrate a few steps of the Yang style of Taiji at the Chinese New Year media reception today to wish all media representatives, students and staff a healthy, happy and prosperous Year of the Horse.

At the reception, President Cheng talked about some latest developments at Lingnan, such as the establishment of the new Department of Applied Psychology, the launch of new taught master level programmes and full accommodation for all four years of study for undergraduate students in the next academic year. He saw the need to offer more courses to let students learn about the scientific approach to inquiry, to enhance students’ language proficiency and learning experience, and to strengthen disciplinary/pre-professional education to complement the traditional liberal arts education.

President Cheng looks forward to working with students and staff more closely to make Lingnan a preferred liberal arts university in Asia distinguished by Chinese-Western cross-cultural education and research.
