Students awarded Certificate of Merit in KPMG Business Administration Paper Competition

With their innovative business model, a team of three students from Lingnan University was awarded Certificate of Merit in the KPMG Business Administration Paper 2015 Competition.

In the Competition, participants were required to develop a new business model for a brand-new proposed startup based on the current or foreseeable trend. A team of Lingnan students comprising Harry Fok Cheuk-kwong (Finance, Year 4), Cheung Hoi-kam (Management, Year 4) and Au Hiu-man (English, Year 4) introduced in their paper a P2P business model to insurance companies, with the aim to diversify risks of insurance companies and enhance protection for insurance buyers in Greater China.
 
With the guidance of co-advisors Prof Alfred Wong Shiu-ho of the Department of Management and Prof Michael Firth of the Department of Finance and Insurance who provided knowledge on the operation of insurance industry and strategic management, the team went through stages of assessments including the First Round, Semi Final and Grand Final, and was awarded a Certificate of Merit and an award in the Promotion Challenge.
