The Trend of Electronic Identity Development Symposium

Lingnan University was one of the supporting organisations of the Trend of Electronic Identity Development Symposium held on 23 September.  The Symposium, co-organised by the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation and the Smart City Consortium, aimed to give the community a deeper understanding of Electronic Identity including its development trends and innovative applications.
 
In his opening remarks, Prof Joshua Mok Ka-ho, Vice President of Lingnan University said that technology, science and education were the cornerstones of success for any global city. Through participating in the Symposium, Lingnan University’s students can learn from and faculty members can work with industry partners to make Hong Kong a Smart City.  He pointed out that such collaboration is important in nurturing Lingnan students to become caring professionals and leaders with a global vision, who are smart in marshalling not only technology but also humanities in creating a better society.
 
Held at Hong Kong Science Park, the Symposium has invited numerous experts in electronic authentication technology and industry leaders from Hong Kong, Mainland China, Thailand and Japan to talk about the future development trends of applications of digital identity authentication, attracting over 200 participants including some 50 staff and students of Lingnan.
