Delegations of school principals and senior administrative staff of 18 high schools from Mainland China, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Taiwan and Thailand commenced a 2-day visit to Lingnan University on 15 February to experience its unique liberal arts education. The Open House provided a platform for participants from different regions to meet and exchange ideas on students’ career counselling.

President Leonard K CHENG introduced to the visitors the University’s liberal arts education distinguished by an interdisciplinary curriculum, small classes, a vibrant campus with full residency, rich international exposure and experiential learning. “No technologies will be able to take the place of creative and critical thinking, empathetic communication and understanding of human relationships - the distinctive attributes found in a liberal arts graduate which are instrumental to the development and management of a high-tech world,” he said.

The campus tour included visits to hostels, facilities, as well as classes from different disciplines. The visiting guests also met with the University’s senior management team, faculty members, representatives from administrative departments, alumni and current students.
