Following the announcement of the HKSAR Government that the public services will be resumed gradually from 2 March onwards, the University has decided that normal office operations will be maintained in a safe and orderly manner with effect from 9 March 2020.

1.         All academic and non-academic departments/offices/units will operate daily during normal office hours, i.e., from 9:00 am to 5:36 pm, Monday to Friday, with a one-hour lunch break.

2.         Heads of academic and non-academic departments/offices/units should arrange for at least half of their staff members to work at the offices daily. Heads may exercise their discretion in making work arrangements according to work duties of their units as appropriate, including the implementation of duty rosters, flexible or staggered working hours, and in consideration of personal circumstances of individual staff members.

Staff members who work on campus are strongly advised to wear a surgical mask and observe the latest preventive measures issued by the University’s Health, Safety and Environment Committee (please refer to the email issued by HSE Committee dated 25 February). All staff members shall complete the Online Declaration Form for Health Protection before returning to the campus.

Colleagues who work from home should observe the guidelines provided by HRO and ITSC (please refer to the email issued by the Office of the President dated 4 February).

The special work arrangements are reviewed regularly. The University will return to normal work pattern (i.e. all staff members are required to attend their duties in the offices during their normal working hours) when conditions permit and staff members should be prepared for it with reasonable prior notice.
