Update on work arrangements (30 November 2020)

  • Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19)
  • Work Arrangements

30 Nov 2020

In view of the latest development in the COVID-19 outbreak in Hong Kong, the University has decided to adjust special work arrangements from Wednesday, 2 December 2020, until further notice while maintaining essential services in all departments, offices and units. Heads of departments, offices and units are given discretion to allow working from home whenever feasible, or other flexible work arrangements for their staff members subject to the maintenance of essential services.

As classes for undergraduate and taught postgraduate programmes will end this week and next week respectively, teaching colleagues should work out an appropriate arrangement with students about the teaching mode for the remainder of the term.

Colleagues who work from home should observe the guidelines provided by the HRO and ITSC (please refer to the email issued by the Office of the President dated 4 February).

Please use the 24-hour Campus Security hotline (2616 8000) to report to the University immediately in the following instances:

-- You are confirmed to have COVID-19
-- You are required to undergo mandatory quarantine
-- You are or have been in close contact with a person in the last 14 days who is confirmed COVID-19 positive, undergoing mandatory quarantine or taking the COVID-19 virus test as required by the Centre for Health Protection.

You should NOT come to the campus if you have any COVID-19 symptoms, or are waiting for COVID-19 test results.

The University will continue to monitor the situation closely and adopt all precautionary measures required to maintain safety on our campus.
