Virtual Campus Life Carnival offers students new interactive ways to enjoy university life

At the beginning of the new academic year, the Office of Student Affairs organised the first Virtual Campus Life Carnival on 7 September 2021 as part of New Student Orientation 2021, offering new and returning students an opportunity to learn about Lingnan’s rich campus life, and join societies, teams and groups.

As well as live music performances, there were online performances by the Dancing Society, the Judo Club, the Music Society, the Woodball Team, the Christian Choir and the karate team, and were attended online by 320 students.

The Carnival also featured 36 virtual promotion booths, manned by student societies, university teams, groups and student services units, showing details of the various activities and offering enrolment to the groups. There was an enthusiastic response to sharing in the virtual booth platform, with 60,000 hits.

In his welcoming remarks, Prof Joshua Mok Ka-ho, Vice-President of LU, said that life at Lingnan is an exciting journey of self-discovery and personal growth, and he encouraged students to explore their interests, keep their mind open, equip themselves and get ready to face the challenges of the new normal.
