Lingnan University to hold Undergraduate Admissions Talks introducing 2022/23 admission arrangements

Lingnan University (LU) will conduct Undergraduate Admissions Talks this Saturday (13 November 2021) on its Tuen Mun campus to explain its admission requirements and arrangements for publicly funded undergraduate programmes in 2022/23 to secondary school students, teachers and parents.

 

There will be two Admission Talks, one on the Joint University Programmes Admissions System (JUPAS) and one for both JUPAS and non-JUPAS candidates, at 11 am and 2 pm respectively.

 

In the talks, the University’s Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Business and Faculty of Social Sciences will introduce the unique features of their programmes, as well as admission requirements for 2022/23.

 

There will be campus tours at 12:15 pm and 3:30 pm.

 

In 2022/23, the Faculty of Arts of LU will offer a new Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Animation and Digital Arts programme through JUPAS, which provides a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to creative arts education that stimulates students’ innovative thinking and creativity.

 

The Department of Translation of has revamped its undergraduate programme into a new Translation, Cross-cultural studies, and Corporate Communication programme, which aims to provide students with a quality bilingual and cross-cultural education that will endow them with the linguistic and cultural adaptability to pursue jobs in translation and related fields such as education, journalism, business administration, and public relations.

 

Starting from the 2022 intake, the Faculty of Social Sciences will change to programme-based admission from the current broad-based admission. Six Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honours) programmes of the Faculty, including Economics, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, Health and Social Service Management, and Social and Public Policy Studies will be offered at JUPAS.

 

To cater to societal manpower needs and enrich the programme, the titles of four Majors and related curricula of the Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) programme will be revised as below:

 

  1. Accounting and Corporate Governance
  2. Digital Business
  3. Human Resource Management and Entrepreneurship
  4. Marketing and Social Media.

 

The interdisciplinary programme Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Global Liberal Arts will be remodelled as the Bachelor of Liberal Arts (Hons) in Global Development and Sustainability. Focusing on international skills through a multi-campus experience and a multidisciplinary curriculum, the programme teaches students to apply creative and critical thinking to development and sustainability challenges in the areas of of political and social policy, business and economy, culture and community, and environment. By studying abroad on two or more continents and completing a capstone project, students learn to address central human problems while critically considering both local and global future consequences.
