Lingnan University hosts Opening Ceremony of Youth Innovation Start-up Competition

Lingnan University and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Youth Society co-hosted the Opening Ceremony for the Youth Innovation Start-up Competition on 15 July, attended by over 150 representatives from supporting organisations, university partners, and students.

 

The ceremony was officiated by Dr Bernard Chan Pak-li, Under Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development of the Hong Kong SAR Government, together with Mr Wilson Or Chong-shing, Chairman of the Kwun Tong District Council, and Prof Joshua Mok Ka-ho, Vice President of Lingnan University.

 

The competition is now open for applications until the end of July. Participants will form teams and propose entrepreneurial projects covering one of five major topics: (1) Smart Living (2) Cultural Creativity (3) Food & Beverage or Retail & Services (4) Health Technology (5) FinTech. They will receive wide-ranging support, including a start-up funding scheme, workshops, professional consultancies, and networking and related resources. The final round is scheduled for 18 September 2022, with the award ceremony held afterwards.
