To foster the development of sports education in Hong Kong, the School of Interdisciplinary Studies (SIS) of LU and the Hong Kong Football Association (HKFA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 11 August. The MoU aims to provide students of LU’s new Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honours) in Sports Coaching and Event Management (SCEM) programme with training opportunities in sports events and sports coaching, including internship opportunities, guest lectures, football events and training activities offered by HKFA. Under the MoU, SIS will also help arrange sports facilities for the joint events organised by the two parties.

Offered by the SIS and Institute of Policy Studies of LU, the SCEM programme is a self-financed, two-year top-up undergraduate programme designed for Associate Degree/Higher Diploma graduates, as well as athletes who aspire to equip themselves with theoretic knowledge and practical skills to pursue a career in sports events and sports coaching sectors..
