LU survey shows 2022 School Children Happiness Index has dropped slightly by 1.17 per cent

According to the results of LU's latest School Children Happiness Index, a slight overall drop has been recorded to 6.77 (on a scale of 0 to 10) from 6.85 in 2021.

Since March this year, the LU research team has interviewed 16 primary schools and nine secondary schools, and collected questionnaires from 1,989 primary school students, 1,504 secondary school students, and 150 teachers. Researchers pointed out that, taking into account the effects of the pandemic and increasing stress faced by students, this 1.17-per-cent drop in the happiness index is better than expected.

LU launched the School Children Happiness Index in 2012. The current survey was conducted by Pan Sutong Shanghai-Hong Kong Economic Policy Research Institute with the support of the Shih Wing Ching Foundation.
