Why would you choose Hong Kong and Lingnan University as your exchange destination?
Two years ago, I first visited this beautiful city - Hong Kong. I was so fascinated and I promised myself to come back. When pursuing my bachelor degree in Switzerland, our International Office offered me the chance to study abroad in Hong Kong. My dream came true when I got the admission from Lingnan University. Hong Kong is a 24/7 international city with one of the most beautiful skylines and has so much to offer. People can go on hikes to admire the breathtaking views and amazing beaches are close by. In addition, Hong Kong is the starting point to travel to all the beautiful countries in Southeast Asia.
How did you feel when you first arrived in Lingnan?
When I arrived with my two friends from Switzerland in Hong Kong, we were really excited but a bit nervous because we did not know how it would be. However, from the first moment, the atmosphere was very lovely. We met many new friends and buddies who helped us to have a smooth integration.
After 3-month exchange life at Lingnan, how do you feel about Lingnan?
It was an experience of a lifetime. I met so many wonderful people from all over the world at Lingnan. This is really a life-changing and eye-opening experience for me. With the open and welcoming atmosphere at Lingnan, I could immerse in and live with different cultures.
Which part of Lingnan do you like most?
It was so great for me to meet and make lifelong friends with so many exchange students who came from very diverse backgrounds. When I go traveling in the future, I will definitely visit all the friends whom I have met in Lingnan.
What is your most memorable experience at Lingnan/Hong Kong?
During my exchange, I had so many unforgettable moments. I will never forget the hikes, the beach days, the parties, the travels around Asia and all the laughter with my amazing friends from local and different parts of the world. I will never forget my time at Lingnan and thank you to everyone for making my stay here an experience of a lifetime.
