Startup Weekend Hong Kong +ve Ageing @ Lingnan University

Positive ageing is about exploring the potential to enhance the experience of our later lives. Startup Weekend Hong Kong +ve Ageing is an opportunity for you to design and build innovative products and services that can help people lead fuller, healthier and more rewarding lives into old age.

We'll equip you with tools through our workshops to rethink how empathy, design, and technology together can impact positive ageing, and help you build your startup with experienced mentors and judges guiding you along your journey and giving you valuable feedback.


All participants will automatically enrol in Hong Kong Social Enterprise Challenge after the competition. The 3 winning teams will even have a SHORTCUT to Hong Kong Social Enterprise Challenge Semi-Final and other prizes!

Eligibility to enter HKSEC from Startup Weekend Hong Kong @ Lingnan University:

- Hong Kong residents with a bachelor degree or above; and

- aged between 18 to 35 (inclusive) ; or

- aged above 35 with at least 2 teammates who are currently university students

I-Gen Series 2018 is now open for application  (Closed)

The Office of Service-Learning will organize the I-Gen Series 2018 that focus promoting the concept of cross-generation collaboration and social innovation to students and elderly. Besides, we also hope tackle social issues in the ageing society by using new and innovative ideas. You may find the details information below:

Joint Humanitarian Entrepreneurship Summer Academy 2018 is Now Open for Application  (Closed)

Lingnan University (LU) is collaborating with Beijing Normal University (BNU) this summer to organize a 4-week international program Joint Humanitarian Entrepreneurship Summer Academy 2018. The Summer Academy provides an invaluable opportunity to young innovators from all over the globe to join together and advance their study. This program combines 3 key elements, Research, Service-Learning and Lectures on key global issues and South-South cooperation delivered by top professors and experts, to give students an exceptional learning experience and equip them with new skills and knowledge.

Citizen Science Research Program (Closed)

The Citizen Science Research Program is jointly offered by Office of Service-Learning (OSL) and the Jane Goodall Institute Singapore (JGIS), supported by the Jane Goodall Institute Hong Kong (JGIHK). By joining this program, you will have the chance to carry out survey for monitoring the critically endangered Raffles’ banded langurs (RBL) in Singapore and be involved in an exciting annual event, the Festival of Biodiversity.

Online survey for Service Leadership Development of University Students in Hong Kong (Closed)

You are cordially invited to participate in a study entitled “Service Leadership Development of University Students” which is conducted by the eight UGC-funded tertiary institutions in Hong Kong. They include The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), City University of Hong Kong (CityU), Lingnan University (LU), The University of Hong Kong (HKU), and The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). Via this survey we endeavor to examine current university students’ attitude, behaviors, and knowledge pertaining to service leadership.
