MIDE Programme co-organized with Pan Sutong Shanghai-Hong Kong Economic Policy Research Institute and China Economic Research Programme hosted the “Walk in the Greater Bay Area and seeking new opportunities” Study Tour to Macau on March 22, 2019.

One group of students led by Dr. Chow Man-kong visited Foundation Macau and welcomed by the Deputy Director of Research Institute of Foundation Macau: Professor Ieong Dao Kuang. Prof. Ieong and MIDE students discussed the future collaborations between Hong Kong Macau in the development of the Greater Bay Area.

Another group of students led by Dr. Hung Wing-lok visited the City University of Macau and welcomed by Associate Vice President, Professor Ip Kuai Peng. Prof. Ip discussed the role of Macau in trading with Portuguese-speaking countries.

In the afternoon, students visited Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute. Manager of Research Division of MTIPI Mr. Leung introduced trading policies, advantages of Macau and encouraged students in investing Macau after graduation.

At the last stop, Dean of Social Science of Lingnan University, Professor Wei Xiangdong together with students visited the University of Macau and discussed with Vice President of University of Macau Professor Lionel M. Ni and directors of Department of Social Science.
