Lingnan University Hosts Delegation from National Chung Cheng University for Discussions on Ageing and Policy Studies on 1 Dec

Lingnan University recently hosted a delegation from National Chung Cheng University (CCU), led by Prof Hao Feng-ming, Vice-President of CCU, to discuss the latest developments in ageing and policy studies. The delegation was welcomed by Prof MOK Ka Ho, Vice-President of Lingnan University, and Prof Dickson CHAN Chak Kwan, Director of the Asia-Pacific Institute of Ageing Studies (APIAS). The teams from the School of Graduate Studies and APIAS also joined the meeting to explore potential research collaborations in the future.

This meeting was held as part of the ongoing collaboration between the two universities, which signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in 2022 to promote academic research and education. The MoU highlights the importance of joint research activities and academic programmes, scholar exchanges, and developing research talent. Both universities are committed to carrying out research projects promoting healthy and productive ageing in the region.

During the visit, the delegation had the opportunity to tour the LU Jockey Club Gerontech-X Lab and learn about the latest developments in gerontechnology in Hong Kong. Dr. Chloe SIU from the Institute of Policy Studies provided an overview of the trends in gerontechnology development and demonstrated how these products can support older adults in better health monitoring.

This visit serves as a valuable opportunity for both universities to strengthen their collaboration and exchange knowledge and expertise in the field of ageing and policy studies. It underscores their commitment to promoting academic research and education and to advancing ageing studies in the region.
