Vice President Joshua Ka Ho Mok of Lingnan University was conferred the title of Honorary Professor by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Beijing University of Technology (BJUT) on 5 October 2023.
During his visit, Professor Mok engaged in discussions with leaders from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at BJUT, exploring potential collaborations in research and postgraduate studies programs. BJUT expressed interest in utilizing Lingnan’s well-established international and regional research platforms to jointly develop comparative research in areas such as cities and urban governance, higher education, and social policy. In addition to his visit to BJUT, Professor Mok was also invited by People’s University to deliver a speech at the Global Forum on Labour Economics and Management Disciplines, as part of the 40th-anniversary celebration of the School of Social Security and Human Resources. During his time there, Professor Mok also explored potential future research collaborations with colleagues from People’s University.
The visit to Beijing, which took place from October 3-5, 2023, also included meetings with colleagues from Peking University, Beijing Normal University, and the China Social Security Society, where Prof Mok explored opportunities for closer cooperation.
