Vice President Joshua Mok was invited to attend the World University Presidents Forum and the 40th Anniversary of the China Association of Higher Education

Professor Joshua Mok, Vice President of Lingnan University, was invited to attend the"World University Presidents Forum" held in Beijing from July 29 to 31, 2023. The forum, themed"Changes of Time and the Missions of Universities", was co-hosted by the Chinese Association of Higher Education, Peking University, and Tsinghua University. The event attracted more than 500 guests from 36 countries and regions around the world. This forum, one of the largest and highest-level international academic conferences, is designed to build a dialogue platform for the world's leading university presidents. It aims to create a high-quality forum that combines global perspectives, high-end nature, foresight, and thoughtfulness, with the goal of expanding the international influence of China's higher education.

The World University Presidents Forum covers five topics:"Artificial Intelligence, Digital Education and the Future of Higher Education","Future Talent Demand and Training Model Reform","Academic Responsibility and Innovative Development of Global Universities","Challenges and Innovations Facing Sustainable Development of Universities", and"University Collaboration and Exchange in the Vision of a Shared Future for Humanity". A total of 65 presidents from top universities worldwide gave presentations at the forum.

Prof Mok was also invited to attend the 40th Anniversary of the China Association of Higher Education held in Beijing on July 30. Mr Cai Dafeng, Vice Chairperson of the National People’s Congress Standing Committee and Chairperson of the China Association for Promoting Democracy, and Mr Huai Jinpeng, Party Committee Secretary of the Ministry of Education, addressed the meeting, which was also attended by Mr Chen Zhili, former State Councilor and Chairperson of the 11th National People’s Congress Standing Committee.
