LU scholar joins the Critical Internationalization Studies Masterclass to enhance the global learning experience

Professor Joshua Mok, Vice-President of Lingnan University, has delivered a video lecture for the Critical Internationalization Studies Masterclass organised by the Critical Internationalization Studies Network.

 

Titled “China’s Quest for World-Class University Status: Critical Reflections”, Prof Mok’s lecture begins with a historical review of the call to create world-class universities in China since the 1990s. He then discusses the achievements and challenges faced by Chinese higher education institutions and the impact of university rankings on their governance, teaching and learning activities, as well as the academic profession and tradition.     

 

The Masterclass is a resource consisting of an open-access online library of video lectures presented by leading scholars in the field of international and comparative education, including Prof Hans de Wit from Boston College, US and many others.
