As an institutional partner of the “Sino-Finnish Cooperation in Digital Teaching and Research” project led by the Centre for East Asian Studies (CEAS) of the University of Turku, the LU team was invited to visit the Centre and plan for the project implementation. LU team had a productive meeting with CEAS Director Prof Lauri Paltemaa, Vice-Director Prof Outi Luova, and project colleagues and reached the agreement of deepening the institutional collaborations via research cooperation, course sharing, and student exchange in addition to completing the collaborative project. Prof Amoah and Prof Xiong were also invited to participate in the Asian Studies Days 2022 on 26 October and present their study titled “COVID-19 and Well-Being of Non-local Students: Implications for International Higher Education Governance”.
On 25 October, the Lingnan team also visited Tampere University in Finland. During the visit, the Lingnan team and Prof Yuzhuo Cai and his colleagues from the Higher Education Group held discussions on research collaboration and ways to promote exchange opportunities for research and taught postgraduate students, as well as faculty members. Both sides agreed to identify and establish research clusters featuring common interests for future research collaboration, especially in public policy and management, regional studies and university-government-industry relationships.
