Topics to be covered

In this seminar Prof. Drezgic will address the following issues:

  • Theoretical issues of tax structure and economic growth
  • Results of the relevant empirical studies
  • Comparative analysis of tax structures
  • Policy issues related to modification of tax structure to be growth-friendly

 

Biography of Speaker

From May 2016 to February 2017, Prof. Drezgic was a Deputy Minister of Finance of the Republic of Croatia. He was also a fellow at the Global Governance Center at London School of Economics and Political Science. From 2013 to 2016, he was a Director of Center of Local Economic Development (Faculty of Economics, University of Rijeka). He has also worked on projects funded by the USAID, UNDP and GIZ. He is currently Editor-in-Chief of Economics Journal of Business and Administration (Faculty of Economics, University of Rijeka). Prof. Drezgic has over 30 publications to in the field of fiscal policy, local government finance, public investments and infrastructure finance and economic development issues.
