In his welcoming remark, Prof Joshua Mok Ka-ho, Vice-President of LU and the Dean of School of Graduate Studies, shared the exciting news that LU has come in second place worldwide, and first in Asia, for “Quality Education” in the latest Times Higher Education (THE) University Impact Rankings 2020, which affirms LU’s commitment to high-quality liberal arts education, impactful research and knowledge transfer activities. Prof Chao-Yu Guo and Prof Yung-Chi Hou, the Dean and Associate Dean of College of Education of NCCU, respectively, also expressed their welcome to the speakers and the audience, and gave their best wishes to the success of the Symposium. This was followed by an opening remark by Prof Shalendra Sharma, Associate Vice President of LU, in which he shared with the audience how LU maintains and enhances its quality assurance and internationalisation under the core educational value of Caring for Learning.
