Briefing for Postgraduate Students

On 30 August 2021, the School of Graduate Studies held the “Briefing for Postgraduate Students” to welcome new postgraduate students joining on-site and online through live webcast. They were given a warm welcome to Lingnan University in the new 2021-22 academic year and given highlights on the history of the University as well as teaching and learning support for their studies.

In his welcome speech, the President, Professor Leonard K Cheng, called upon students to “seize every opportunity to learn”.  He added, “Lingnan is a closely-knit community of students and scholar-teachers and we are all here to support you…. While we stay vigilant against the pandemic, we remain optimistic that activities on campus can be fully resumed in the near future. As the academic term progresses, we will continue to review the teaching and learning arrangements to ensure that our students received the best learning experience.”

In the 2021-22 academic year, the University expects to welcome over 1,300 new postgraduate students from Hong Kong and around the world, e.g. China, Ghana, India, Iran, Russia, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, U.S., etc. to come to Hong Kong to commence their studies with the University’s decision to resume face-to-face teaching and learning from Term 1, 2021-22.
