Lee Pui-yeung, a taught postgraduate student from Master of Social Sciences in Comparative Social Policy (International), was selected as an awardee of the For Our Future Scholarship 2020/21 for his outstanding academic performance, achievements in personal development and contributions to society.

Lee was nominated by the University for the Scholarship after passing through an internal selection interview set up by the Office of Student Affairs. During the interview, Lee showed a strong interest in education-related social policy and his aspiration to be an educational practitioner in the future. Prior to pursuing his second master’s degree in LU, he obtained a master’s degree in the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Newly offered by the Greater Bay Area Homeland Youth Community Foundation, the For Our Future scholarship invited each of the 13 Hong Kong educational institutions — the eight UGC-funded universities, Chu Hai College of Higher Education, HK Shue Yan University, The Hang Seng University of HK, HK Academy for Performing Arts and The Open University of HK — to nominate a maximum of two candidates. The Foundation shortlisted 15 finalists for the final selection in early February. Deeply impressed by the final candidates, the Foundation decided to grant the award to all of them. The awardees, also showed a strong commitment to Hong Kong and a desire to continue serving the society, will each receive a HK50,000 scholarship.
