Rethinking International Higher Education: COVID-19 Pandemic and New Geopolitics
The development of higher education is inseparable from the external environment. Today's higher education is in turbulent times. The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has caused significant changes to the world economically, culturally and socially. Equally important, the pandemic has made geopolitics for more complex than before. Competition between major powers is becoming increasingly fierce, and the traditional international order is undergoing severe challenges. When we analyze the current situation and prospects of the internationalization of higher education, we must consider external environmental factors such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the new geopolitics.
This year’s Education Forum will invite researchers, practitioners, and students from Peking University, Lingnan University, the University of Wisconsin – Madison to share their understanding of the environment of today’s higher education, university changes and students’ experiences.
