Hong Kong needs to embrace the circular economy for strong strategic reasons. At the core of the circular economy is resource productivity, which when enhanced, yields higher profitability, lower landfill costs and enables Hong Kong businesses to play roles in global supply chains that increasingly mandate responsible production practices. In this talk, Prof. Scott Valentine will introduce case studies from around the world which highlight how the circular economy catalyzes economic success and will then provide an analysis of what Hong Kong needs to do to embrace this new way of conceptualizing economic development.
