In the past, concerns have been raised about the English standards of Lingnan University graduates. From this 2017-18 academic year it is a graduation requirement for all incoming students to achieve an IELTS band score 6.5 at some point before their graduation.

This workshop is for academics of all faculties and will introduce the IELTS requirements and the standards students must achieve to meet this requirement. It will also help academics to identify problem areas that students may be experiencing and provide tips and possible solutions to help students improve. Resources available to both academics and students will be introduced, particularly a variety of ways academics can avail themselves of CEAL’s ELSS (English Language Support Services) services to help students improve their language skills.
