Offering of Elective Courses
Not all elective courses are offered every year. Some courses may be offered in alternate years. Elective courses are offered subject to availability of teachers and sufficient student enrolment.
Free Electives
Students may select courses in any disciplines to obtain the total number of credits required for graduation, subject to timetable, course load and study scheme constraints.
* Students were allowed to take either TRA3203 Introduction to Translation Studies or TRA4303 Contemporary Translation Theory as a required course. Students may also take both courses and one of them will be counted as a programme elective. If students have not finished this requirement on TRA3203 or TRA4303 by 2019-20, they can only take TRA3203 in 2020-21.
# Students are required to work on a long translation project, either E-C or C-E, or both, or work on a research project, and cannot change to take another project course after failing any one of them.
## Students who have taken TRA3201 General Interpreting (C-E) or TRA3202 General Interpreting (E-C) are not allowed to take TRA3228 Liaison Interpreting.
@ Students who have taken TRA4301 Advanced Interpreting (C-E) or TRA4302 Advanced Interpreting (E-C) are not allowed to take TRA4326 Conference Interpreting.
