The aim of this programme is to provide a challenging bilingual education to students, which will enable them to develop:
- their oral and writing skills so they will serve as effective and responsible intermediaries between texts and speakers in English and Chinese;
- their capacity to make independent and objective judgments, which are necessary for language specialists or employees in leading positions in government, business, industry and a wide range of other professions; and
- a better understanding of their place in Hong Kong’s bilingual community and of the roles they will play in serving that community.
The programme is designed for students who are qualified to enroll in full-time senior year levels (i.e. third and fourth year of undergraduate studies) in the Faculty of Arts. Applicants should generally be holders of at least an Associate Degree or Higher Diploma in Translation and Interpretation, Bilingual Communication, Chinese / English Language and Literature, Chinese / English for Professional Purposes, Cultural Studies and other Arts and Humanities programmes.
Tuition Fee: HKD90,000 per year (local students); HKD100,000 per year (non-local students)
