The themes of the three-day conference were Uncertain Futures: Repurposing Higher Education and Uncertain Futures: The Role of Liberal Arts Education, which drew experts from all over the world to explore the precarious nature of global socio-economic development today and suggest solutions.
Earlier in 2019, Lingnan co-hosted the international symposium on “Internationalization and Quality Management in Higher Education” with APHERP in collaboration with the School of Public Administration of South China University of Technology, and School of Education of Guangzhou University. The Symposium invited distinguished scholars from Japan, Malaysia, mainland China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong to discuss how tertiary institutions from different regions in the Asia Pacific region responded to internationalization and its challenges to quality management in higher education.
