Description
This seminar consists of four parts: instrumental music, narration with music, Chinese opera and folk music. Instrumental music includes the appreciation of four different types of Chinese musical instruments . Narration with music includes the appreciation of southern music. Chinese opera includes the appreciation of Kunqu and Jingxi. Besides audio visual materials, a live demonstration will be incorporated in the seminar for audience appreciation of Chinese music.

About WOO Pak-tuen, Rupert
Woo received his Bachelor of Engineering (Honors) Degree in Computer Science (Information Engineering) from the HKUST and Bachelor of Music (Honors) Degree from HKAPA. He is now studying the Master of Music program in HKAPA, major in Conducting for Chinese Orcherstras.

Woo received training from musician and conductor Yan Hui-chang. He is specializing in Banhu and has been performing around the world.

活動介紹
講座介紹中國音樂的四個範疇，包括：器樂、說唱、戲曲和民歌。器樂方面，介紹吹、拉、彈、打各種中國樂器及地方樂種。說唱方面，有各地方說唱如地水南音、鼓書等的介紹。戲曲包括崑曲、京劇、梆子戲等導賞。民歌包括南北地域不同的民間歌調。講授音樂與文化的關係，並輔以錄像、影音資料，亦有現場表演，令觀眾親身體會不同樂器與樂曲之優美旋律及區別。

袁侃明 (嶺南大學中文系二年級學生)

胡栢端
畢業於香港科技大學及香港演藝學院，先後取得計算機科學（資訊科技工程）工程學士（榮譽）學位及音樂演奏碩士學位。現於香港演藝學院修讀中樂指揮碩士課程，師隨音樂家及作曲家閻惠昌。曾出訪各地演出，並擔任板胡獨奏。
